Prayer (3rd Sunday of Easter)

P

Risen Saviour,
you walk with us daily,
urging us to listen and understand,
guiding us with your Spirit,
and unlocking the scriptures.

Help us to take time to be still,
to seek your wisdom,
to notice your resurrection light
and to look upon you in your full glory.

Open our eyes so we can see you fully
and recognise that although darkness lurks
and suffering lingers,
your resurrection light will break through,
the dawn chorus will sing
and the sun will shine brighter.

At this time, we pray for all those in pain,
those who feel alone and abandoned,
those who are struggling to see your light.
Sit with them, open their eyes with hope and grant them peace.

We pray for all who care for others,
those who heal, those who serve,
those who minister, those who help.
Sit with them, open their eyes with hope and give them strength.

We pray for our world,
those who lead and make decisions,
those who research and find cures,
Sit with them, open their eyes with hope and reveal your wisdom.

We pray for damaged places,
those neglected or in poverty,
those divided by hatred, violence and war.
Sit with them, open their eyes with hope and touch them with your love.

Even though we struggle to see in the darkness,
we look to your glorious resurrection light,
knowing the hope it gives us for transformation and new life.
Hear our prayer.
Amen.
